    Proposed 2013-14 Budget and Act 1 Exception

     

     
     NOTICE is hereby given that the 2013-2014 Proposed Preliminary Budget for the Susquehanna Township School District is on display for public inspection. A copy of said budget is available for public inspection at the Administrative office of the Susquehanna Township School District, at the address noted below, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and on the district’s webpage at www.hannasd.org. The Board will take action on the preliminary budget at the regular meeting of the Board on January 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room, at the address noted below. As part of the budget, the School Board will consider levying a tax of 16.97 mills on each dollar of the total assessment of all property assessed and certified for taxation within the Susquehanna Township School District, which tax is equal to $1.69 per $100 of assessed valuation. Said taxes are levied to pay the salaries and increments of the teaching and supervisory staff, debt service and to pay rentals due upon the property of the Susquehanna Township School District.

     As part of 16.97 mill real estate tax the Susquehanna Township School District will be seeking an exception to Act 1 in the area of retirement contributions.  The total dollar value of this exception is $398,811. These exception applications will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for approval no earlier than February 1, 2013.
