    The Board shall provide instructional and evaluative materials to implement and support the District’s educational goals and academic standards. Furthermore, teachers are encouraged to use timely and prudent audiovisual aids in the instruction program.


    The Superintendent or designee shall develop and implement selection and approval procedures for the use of digital multimedia. 


    In as much as digital multimedia, including videos, are considered a part of the education process, they shall be used in conjunction with current curriculum topics.


    The classroom teacher will preview and evaluate all videos or clips of videos for appropriateness and relevance to curriculum. 


    Films shown at the secondary level must be rated PG-13 or lower. Films shown at the primary level must be rated G. Viewing an R-rated film is prohibited. Options should be provided for students who do not view videos. 


    Films will be viewed in conjunction with a written assignment and /or project that assesses student understanding of the film in relation to the lesson’s essential and key questions. Samples of the written assignment include: guided study sheet, essay prompts or some form of quiz or exam.


    Anyone using digital multimedia in the classroom must comply with the Federal Copyright Law. Use of videos for entertainment or rewards is a copyright violation. The District’s Administrative Procedures include a Copyright Compliance Form for teachers.
