POLICY

TELEPHONE PAGING DEVICES

 

No student shall possess a telephone paging device on school property or at any activity or event sponsored or approved by a school in the Susquehanna Township School District. For the purposes of this policy, the term “school property” includes, but is not limited to, any school building, grounds, vehicle, or other site owned, leased or otherwise used by the Susquehanna Township School District. Upon advance approval by the building principal, based on written substantiated need, a student who is a member of a volunteer fire company, ambulance or rescue squad or a student who has a need for a telephone paging device due to the medical condition of an immediate family member shall be exempt from the provisions of this policy.

 

A student found to be unlawfully in possession of a telephone paging device on school property or at any school event, as specified above, will receive a three-day “in-school” suspension and the paging device will be confiscated.
