Curriculum Plans Presented at Board Meeting
A presentation outlining the work and timelines related to curriculum and related topics at Susquehanna Twp. School District was presented to school board members at its public work session by Dr. Tamara C. Willis, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, on Feb. 2.
Willis was assisted by administrators and staff in describing meetings already underway with curriculum coordinators to look at what currently exists and what needs to be aligned to the state's Department of Education standards. Slides from the presentation can be viewed by clicking on Feb. 2 Curriculum Development Presentation at School Board Meeting.
"Launching our efforts to provide a standards-aligned core curriculum for students, grades K through 12, is exciting," Willis said. "Our entire staff is involved in this process, and we want to engage parents/guardians as we move forward."
Willis will meet with parent-teacher organizations at Sara Lindemuth/Anna Carter Primary School, Thomas W. Holtzman Jr. Elementary School, Susquehanna Twp. Middle School and Susquehanna Twp. High School in March to offer an abbreviated version of the board presentation and to answer questions. She is also available at email@example.com.
