Food Services
NOTICE
Menus are subject to change due to emerging national issues related to food supply and cost with the potential to impact school nutritional programs.
Nutrition plays a vital role in a student's ability to learn effectively and is important in ensuring The Success of Every Learner. The STSD Food Services Department supports the educational process by providing students with quality nutritious meals in accordance with the USDA. Students are offered a wide variety of nutritious food daily.
The Susquehanna Township School District Food Service Department is reviewed every 3 years by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Division of Food and Nutrition (DFN). The results of the School Nutrition Program Administrative Reviews are posted on the PDE website.

USDA Free Meal Waivers Expired for 2022-23 SY
The USDA COVID-19 universal free meal waiver expired on July 1, 2022. What this means is that students will once again be charged for the meals that they choose to eat at school. If you may have difficulty paying your child's meals, please complete the Application for Free & Reduced Meals.
IMPORTANT FREE & REDUCED MEALS APPLICATION INFORMATION:
If you believe your school aged child(ren) may qualify for free or reduced-priced meals this school year and have not yet submitted the application for free or reduced-priced meals to the school, we encourage you to do so by October 21, 2022. Please be aware that applying for free or reduced-priced meals will not impact meals that your child(ren) currently receives through the school.
The free and reduced-priced meals application must be completed and submitted every school year as the application does not carry over year to year. The only exception would be if you received a notice of direct certification from the food service department at the start of this school year. Again, this letter must be received each year and does not carry over year to year. When in doubt please contact the food service department for clarification.
If you are new to the district and feel you may qualify for meal assistance, a free and reduced meals application must be completed prior to assistance being received. In addition, if you received free or reduced-priced meals at a previous district you must contact us immediately so that the necessary information is received in the food service office. New students who do not have an approved current school year application on file with the food service department will not be eligible for the COVID-19 relief packages.

If you do not have access to a printer, please contact the food service office to make other arrangements to complete an application.
