Health Services
School Health Services are provided by Certified School Nurses, Registered Nurses, School Dentists, and School Physicians to provide a variety services including, but not limited to:
- Health Education
- Annual Screenings
- Dental and Physical Exams
- Referral Services
- Illness and Injury Care
- Medication Administration
- Student Assistance Program
The school health program consists of required screenings such as vision, hearing and growth measurements of all students. The School Nurse maintains the student's school health record, keeping track of required immunizations, physical and dental exams, and results of screening. Other services, including illness and injury care for students and staff, medication administration when there is an order by a health care provider, and health education are available during school hours.
The School Nurse works closely with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and community partners to ensure the safety of the entire school community. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to notify the School Nurse of any health conditions, injuries, illnesses, or other health related concerns, which may effect the student's health and well being while at school.
