The STSD Technology Department works with district staff and administration to ensure The Success of Every Learner by providing the tools and training necessary to successfully integrate technology into the classroom. The department also provides technical support to personnel and students for devices and software.

The Technology Department is also responsible for managing large amounts of data, implementing the district's 1 to 1 program, and ensuring that systems are running efficiently.

One-to-One Program

Here you will find information related to our High School's One-to-One Computing program.

VERY IMPORTANT

Students' first homework assignment with their laptops will be to review with a parent or guardian the One-to-One Laptop Manual, One-to-One FAQs, and Acceptable Use Policy, all linked below, and complete an online acknowledgement and agreement to the terms of the laptop loan program. Students will receive these documents and link to the online agreement through their school-issued email. A paper copy of the Loan Agreement is available below for printout. Paper copies should be turned in to the high school main office, however, you are encouraged to complete the form online through student email.

Home Internet Options

Susquehanna Township School District realizes that not every family has access to the internet at home. Below is a list of resources for families to obtain broadband internet at their home at low or no cost.

Many smartphones can be turned into a "hotspot" for use by other devices. Depending on your provider and plan, this may be either free or a small additional charge to your service. If you are unsure about your plan, contact your provider for details.

Internet Essentials offers qualifying households high-speed home internet for a low monthly price. With Internet Essentials, you can get fast, reliable speeds up to 50 Mbps with no credit check, no term contract, and no cancellation fees.

Apply today if you participate in programs like Lifeline, SNAP/EBT, Medicaid, or free and reduced price school lunch. For more eligibility information, visit xfinity.com/getIE. The accessible website also includes the option to video chat with customer service agents in American Sign Language.

AT&T

UNIVERSAL

USAC (a funding branch of the FCC) offers a program called Lifeline which provides discounts to qualified families on their home Internet service. A consumer can qualify for the Lifeline benefit if their income is 135% or less than the federal poverty guidelines, or if they participate in SNAP, Medicaid, or other federal programs. VERIZON

Verizon offers Verizon Lifeline plans for home phone service or broadband (internet) service. The broadband discount is limited to Fios internet service at a speed of 18 megabits per second or above.

If you qualify for the Lifeline discount service, you are eligible to receive a reduced rate on your Verizon monthly bill. To sign up for this service, visit their website at https://www.verizon.com/support/consumer/account/manage-account/lifeline-discount.

STSD has partnered with Microsoft to offer all staff and students 5 FREE copies of Microsoft Office 365 to install on personal computers at home.

Note: Once you graduate or leave Susquehanna Township School District, your applications will cease to work.

Install O365 Instructions to Sign-In:

Go to hannasd.org on the computer that you want to install the software
At the login screen, enter your school email address and password and click OK
On the main O365 screen:

How to log-in to Microsoft Office 365 at Home

Go to portal.hannasd.org on your computer.
At the login screen, enter your school email address and password and click OK.
On the main O365 screen you can access Outlook, OneNote, Teams and the entire Microsoft office suite. Just click an icon to open the application.

Device Care

Taking Care of District Issued Equipment

It is important to take care of your laptop or iPad and keep it in good shape. There are a number of easy things that you can do to keep your equipment in great working order.

Please follow these simple guidelines:

Keep your laptop in the school-issued laptop carrying case when it is not in use.
Do not overload the laptop carrying case with other items or items that may damage the laptop.
Do not sit on your laptop or place any objects on top of it. Doing so may cause damage to the screen and internal components.
Do not pick up or carry your laptop by the screen.
Do not touch the screen with pens, pencils, or any sharp instruments.
Do not leave pens, pencils, or papers on the keyboard when closing the screen.
Keep liquids, food, pets, and debris away from laptops. Do not keep food, food wrappers, or drink containers in the laptop carrying case.
When using the laptop, gently place it on a flat, solid surface. This will allow air to circulate properly and keep the laptop from overheating. For example, placing the laptop on a pillow or blanket can block airflow.
Do not expose your laptop to extreme temperatures (below 35 degrees or above 90 degrees Fahrenheit).
Do not leave your laptop unattended, such as in a car or area where it may be damaged or stolen.
Cords, cables, and removable storage devices must be inserted carefully into the laptop.
Never attempt to repair or reconfigure the laptop. Under no circumstances are you to tamper with the internal components or remove any screws.
