Hello and welcome to our music classroom webpage!  I am excited to start a new school year of musical adventures!  I hope your summer was wonderful and you are ready to explore and learn how to become an even better musician!  I enjoy teaching kindergarten, first and second grade general music and preparing our young students for a lifetime of making music.  I have taught general music at Sara Lindemuth since 2005 and have taught middle school music and chorus and K-6 music and chorus in prior teaching positions.  I enjoy working with our young musicians!  I have a bachelors degree in music education from Grove City College and a Masters of Music Education from Lebanon Valley College.  I have also studied in the Masters of Vocal Performance and Pedagogy program at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, NJ.  While performing, I've had the opportunity to sing with The New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center and The Pittsburgh Symphony at Heinz Hall and our own local Harrisburg Symphony at The Forum.  My musical ventures have also given me the opportunity to travel across the United States and to many European countries and South Korea!  I have been a member of the Messiah College Choral Arts Society which performs a large choral work each spring.  I also am actively involved with playing the synth and singing in my church. When I am not in the music classroom, I am usually spending time with my family which includes my husband and three children who will be starting fifth, sixth, and nineth grades in the fall of 2020.  Along with hobbies of being my kids' taxi driver, singing and playing the piano and French horn, I also enjoy weight-lifting, hiking, kayaking, gardening, and the great outdoors.  If you have any questions about music class or your individual student's needs, you can send me a message on Class Dojo or an email at epalmer@hannasd.org.  I look forward to a great year as your child's music teacher!

  • I will be setting my office hours between 9 am -11 am Monday-Friday. You may reach me by email or DOJO messaging during that time and I will be available to get back to you. I also plan on checking and replying to messages during the week outside that window.

  • Keep visiting the online learning activities during the school closure to continue your music education! Second graders, now is the perfect time to be memorizing those note names and rhythm values! Kindergarten and First Grade students, you can be working on Do, Re, Mi, etc. and practicing your rhythm values. All students can keep singing and playing music of all different styles to expand your listening horizons! What is one of the main ways we get better at music? Answer:By listening to those who have made great music before us! When I was learning how to be a jazz singer I was constantly listening to Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, and more. You grow from what you listen to, that's the power of music.
