  • About Miss. Duriske

I write to you with warm greetings as your child’s support teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. As the new school year begins, I would like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Elizabeth Duriske and I will be providing support for your child in their general education classroom. I have been in the education field for 3 years, 2 of those years have been here at Holtzman. I graduated from Messiah College in May of 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I am thrilled to be given this opportunity to work with your child here at Thomas Holtzman Elementary in Susquehanna, as I have a lot of experience and a passion for working with elementary aged students. Although this is only my 2nd year teaching in Susquehanna School District, I am very familiar with the area. I am a Mechanicsburg Area School District alumnus and currently reside in Mechanicsburg. I am extremely excited to continue teaching all the little “owls” at Holtzman as part of our wonderful special education team. Go Team Talons!

I am looking forward to meeting each and every student of my class and their parents too. This school year I plan to continue working with your child on building social/emotional, cognitive, language, math, literacy and science skills. Observing your child’s developments with these skills, I plan to implement activities accordingly and provide your child with the most appropriate learning experiences to further develop their creative skills and interests. I hope to make this academic year an educational, as well as a fun-filled year for the students. It is therefore also my responsibility and pleasure to open my door to you; I welcome any questions or comments in hopes that I can help you and your child have a great school year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the upcoming weeks. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.
