Hello Thomas Holtzman Family,

My name is Tamaura Woodson and I will be  your child’s Social Studies and Science teacher. I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome to our classroom community. This is my 16th year teaching 5th grade students.

I believe that every child is unique and learns in a different way.  My job, as a teacher, is to help your child discover his or her academic strength and work alongside your child to maximize it. Also, your child and I will strive to uncover any academic struggle that he or she may have and set goals to help turn any struggle into a success!  I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively and cooperatively and project-based learning.  My goal to create a classroom community of learners who are committed to working up to expectations and having fun. I want my students to leave my classroom everyday with the ability to apply what they’ve learned to real-life situations. Last but not least, I want to challenged all students in a way that enhances their passion for learning.

I firmly believe that collaboration, cooperation, and open communication between home and school are key to building a strong foundation for a successful school year.  Please feel free to email, Dojo or call me with any questions, concerns or successes you would like to share with me this year.
