A student entering their junior or senior year and have a weighted cumulative GPA of 92.6 or higher are eligible to apply for National Honor Society. In the summer before their junior or senior year, the students will receive a letter in the mail with the NHS application that must be returned during the first few weeks of school (exact due date on application). The applications is not just a formality, since students need to show consistent service, participation in extra-curricular activities and write an essay on leadership. They also need to have an adult that is the advisor of their leadership activity fill out a short evaluation. The applications are reviewed by the faculty council and decisions on admission are made around the beginning of October.
