    Goal of the Plan

The goal of the Susquehanna Township School District’s (STSD) Continuity of Education (CoE) Plan is to provide distance learning to reinforce and enrich student learning for students in grades K-5 and deliver planned instruction for students in grades 6-12.  The district will transition to a fully virtual learning model for all students on April 14, 2020.

    Overview of the Plan

The goal of the district’s CoE Plan is to ensure that the district continues to meet the educational needs of all students during a prolonged school closure. The plan carefully considers the effects of significant absences on student achievement and aims to mitigate long-term impact. While the plan represents a departure from the educational model and structure to which students and staff have grown accustomed, it is aligned with the district’s mission to ensure the success of every learner. Success will be reinforced through a comprehensive deployment of electronic devices, facilitation of internet access for families, and interactive teacher-created lessons based upon Pennsylvania Core Standards, and eligible content.

The third marking period will be extended to April 14, 2020, to allow a more seamless transition to the fourth quarter which will be delivered remotely. Finally, the district has provided a curated list of online resources to provide enrichment opportunities, reinforce prior learning, and provide a springboard for other independent learning activities that support the academic and emotional well-being of our students.
